/ Promotional Booklet
Lumina Book Fairs was a rebrand project to revitalize a book fair program. They aimed to put family friendly books in the hands of students all over the country.
Brand mascots play a crucial role in the children's segment by enabling kids to forge emotional connections with the brand. These symbols evoke responses from children, fostering loyalty. A successful execution involves seamlessly blending the company's tangible offerings with its emotional attributes, portraying friendliness, tenderness, and humor.
Our concept for the brand mascot “Lu” is a spark of light gifted with the power of imagination.
He loves stories that teach children how to be kind, joyful, and shine brightly. Unlike many
logos that maintain uniformity in their presentation, Lu stands out by effortlessly establishing brand recognition through a diverse range of poses and activities.
/ The Lumina Icon
Lumina Book Fairs aimed to get books back in the hands of kids. As remembered by man young adults, book fairs were the way that students could get excited about reading and learning responsibility through the purchase of their own items. They wanted a logo design that would be bold and legible for kids to read, something that represented the "spark" of imagination and possibly and icon that could be visible on the spine of a book if the brand expanded into book publishing. This was how "Lu" (pronounced Lou) was born.
/ The project prompt: Lumina - to light, to illuminate; to shine; to be enlightened.
